Hi friends,hope you all are doing good.Today’s recipe is ‘Karela Bharwa’. When we hear the word karela in food menu we just make our face and don’t want to have it.
But we forget that karela is the vegetable which is very healthy and it has its unique flavor/taste. It also act as a blood purifier in our body.
Karela Bharwa is a stuffed karela dish which is prepared in different ways at different places. Today I am going to share a very simple yet delicious recipe to make stuffed karela.

Steps to follow while making karela Bharwa are:-
- Wash and Cut the karela in 2parts. Now take a Kadhi and add karela with water and salt in it. Put it on gas flame and boil it.
- After 15mins of boiling take a knife and check it weather it is cooked properly or not by putting the knife in bitter guard like in the picture.
- If it is cooked properly then close the gas flame and let it cool down completely.
- Now take out the seeds from boiled bitter guard with the help of spoon.
- Take a grinder jar and add seeds of boiled bitter guard, 2chopped onions, 2chopped tomatoes, 10to12 garlic gloves, 1tsp cumin seeds, 4to5 black pepper and 1tsp of mustard seeds in it and make a fine paste of it.
- Heat 4tsp oil in Kadhi and add 1/2tsp cumin seeds.
- Now add the masala paste in it.
- Now add 1tsp turmeric powder, 1tsp red chilli powder, 2tsp coriander powder and Salt to taste.
- On the other hand take 2 raw mangoes peel off them and grate them with the grater. Put it aside.
- Now stir the masala and cook it until it collects like a soft dough.
- Add granted raw mangoes to reduce bitterness of karela and mix it for 2mins only.
- Let the masala stuffing cool down completely.
- Now start filling the masala in boiled karela with the help of spoon.
- After filling all the karela heat the oil in kadhi and frying them.
- When you see karela is fried properly just take out in plate. Your karela bharwa is ready to serve.Serve it roti or paratha.
